The Shrewsbury Drapers’ Company were delighted to be able to hold their annual Textile Competition in St Mary’s Church Shrewsbury once again after cancelling the exhibition in 2020 due to COVID 19.
The theme for the Textile Competition ‘Rainforest’ attracted a particularly high standard of creative textile work with a wide range of student entries in the 16-22 age category as well as well as a variety of amateur adult entries.
The Awards and Presentation Reception took place on Wednesday 24th November and was attended by the High Sheriff of Shropshire Tony Morris-Eyton, the Mayor of Shrewsbury Councillor Julian Dean, the Mayor of Wem Councillor Peter Broomhall, Master of the Shrewsbury Drapers’ Company John Crackett as well as other members of the Shrewsbury Drapers Company and other invited guests.
Thank you to all those who entered the competition in 2021. We are all truly inspired by all the wonderful entries on the theme Rainforest !
