On Sunday 13th August the Master of the Shrewsbury Draper’s Company, Gaynor Bowen, held an afternoon tea event which took place in the glorious setting of the Orangery at Pitchford Hall.
A sumptuous afternoon tea was enjoyed by fellow Drapers, family and friends which was accompanied by the sounds of the saxophone jazz quartet ‘Saxon Fire’.
Throughout the afternoon there was the opportunity to have a guided tour of the hall and grounds by the owners of Pitchford Hall.
During the afternoon further details of the Master’s Appeal were revealed which is to raise funds towards some new signage for the various Almhouses sites. The sign will include the Drapers crest and a short history of the Shrewsbury Drapers Company and the almshouses.
