Vaughans Mansion Rediscovered

Shrewsbury Rediscovered - Literary Lunch

On the 20th of January, 75 Drapers, family and friends gathered at the University Centre, Shrewsbury for an illustrated talk by Dr. Tim Jenkins - ''Shrewsbury Rediscovered''

Fascinating pictures, maps and photos showed an historic Shrewsbury. As well as providing an insight into the development of Shrewsbury and the part the Drapers played, Dr. Jenkins spoke in detail about the restoration of the Music Hall and the uncovering of Vaughan's Mansion. Rowleys Mansion is his next project, another property with Draper links.

The talk was followed by a hotpot and cheese plate lunch with wine available for those that wanted it.

Ticket and wine sales together with a raffle raised over £800 towards the almshouses
