Livery Company of Wales invitation to St Asaph Advent celebration

The Livery Company of Wales, Northern Group invited its Master Peter Coleman and his wife Jen to a fund raising lunch at the home of John and Rosie price in St Asaph. The Shrewsbury Drapers have long established links with this Livery Company and Senior Warden, Christine Holmes and husband David were invited as representatives. The hosts were generous and the food and wine delicious. Lunch was follwed by an Advent Procession in the smallest ancient Cathedral and the second smallest city in the United Kingdom. The service was bilingual with English and Welsh alternating. All the hymns were in English. The Cathedral is beautifully proportioned and the architecture elegant, simple and honest. It is also the home of an early copy of the William Morgan Bible. William Morgan ended his long career as Bishop of St Asaph and he translated both old and new Testaments from the original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic into Welsh in the early 1580's
