Shrewsbury Drapers welcome new Honorary Freeman

The Master, Mary Rose Bone welcomes Sir Algernon and Lady Heber-Percy together with John Moore to the Shrewsbury Drapers at a luncheon in Drapers Hall

At a recent lunch at Drapers Hall in Shrewsbury three Honorary Freemen were welcomed into Shrewsbury Drapers Company. The former Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire, Sir Algernon Heber-Percy, his wife Lady Heber-Percy, and John Moore, Director of Music at Shrewsbury School, were all appointed Honorary Freeman in recognition of the support they have given over many years to the work of the Drapers in providing homes for older people in Shrewsbury and running Textile Design Competitions for school children, students and adults. Master of Shrewsbury Drapers Company, Mary Rose Bone said :"The Drapers were pleased to be able to invite such strong supporters of the work we do to become Honorary Drapers and delighted when they all accepted the invitation.  We look forward to their continued support in the future".
